Our Committees and Working Groups

The Membership Committee prepares Richmond DSA for socialist organizing by connecting members to chapter activities, organizing political education, and building community.

The Mutual Aid Committee is responsible for organizing mutual aid projects that connect with the community to meet our common needs.

The Outreach Committee brings new people into Richmond DSA and builds awareness of socialist potential.

Communication is a key function in Richmond DSA - and we do everything from logo, poster and online graphic design to printing materials and articles of clothing that proudly declare our commitment to socialism.

The Electoral Committee builds connections with elected and other public officials, conducts advocacy on behalf of the Local, and pursues research on public elections, candidates, and public policy and legislation.

The Richmond People's Survey is a base-building project in collaboration with the Organization for a Free Society. People's Survey canvassers go door-to-door and wherever else Richmonders congregate and ask what community needs they think have gone unmet.

Richmond DSA participates in the national DSA campaign for health care provided by a single social insurance, free at the point of service, covering every person in the United States, for all medically necessary procedures and medications.
